Hottest interior style trends for 2023

Whether you’re a minimalist at heart, charmed by all-things country style or a true-blue lover of colour, we’ve got you covered with something for everyone to be found in some of the hottest style trends for homes in 2023.

1. Arches and soft corners

The design world has been inundated with arches in the last few years—particularly with storage units, headboards and mirrors. This longing for organic, flowing shapes in and around the home is set to continue, with alcoves and arches continuing to bring softness and comfort factor in 2023.

2. Layering vintage and contemporary

Yep, a little bit of this and a little bit of that is the name of the 2023 interiors trend game! This year, mixing and matching old and new is a surefire winner. Gone are the days of pure, unadulterated minimalism and ultra-modern techvibes; now it’s all about bringing pockets of charm and nostalgia to your home through vintage furniture and furnishings. If you’re wanting to dip your toe in, lamps and side tables are a great place to start!

3. Maximalist rugs

With the maximalist movement gaining some serious traction over its minimalist counterpart, you now have license to incorporate some serious pops of colour into your home. Rugs are a great way to work colour into a room without overpowering the space.

4. Enclosed kitchens

It’s a trend we didn’t see coming, but it turns out that open plan isn’t the only way live. Given how much time everyone spent together during Covid lockdowns, it makes sense that people are now seeking quieter, enclosed spaces to break up the home—particularly in the kitchen.

(Oh, and a little tip—open shelves in a more enclosed room is a great way to balance out the space. You’re welcome!)

5. Warm tones all the way

Stainless steel is out and gold is in—and let the minutes show we love to see it! The championing of warm tones over cool looks set to stay, and we are here for gold tapware, handles, light fittings and beyond.
